Taia Rude '21 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to earn a scholarship to pay for college.  I see three opportunities to accomplish this;  one is athletics, two academics, and three being a combination of the two. I pride myself on my academic achievements and take them very seriously.  Currently, I am carrying a 3.92 in high school.  Although I'm not sure what I want to study in the future,  right now architecture is my main interest.  I have a strong set of values that helps me not give in to peer pressure.  This helps me to be a leader on and off the field.  I choose my friends and companions carefully.  As for athletics I play softball and run track.  My events in track consist of high jump, hurdles, and sprints.  In softball, my favorite position is second base.  I have been complimented by many of my coaches and teachers on how coachable I am and how easily I learn new skills and concepts.  Although, athletics and academics are very important to me, I also participate in Art Club and piano lessons.  I love spending time with my family of five. I have two younger sisters that I am trying to set a good example for as I pursue my dreams.  My love for competition came from both my parents, who were Division I college athletes.
