With both of my parents being so hard-working, and pushing me to be/ do the best i can on a daily basis, it has made me into the person I am today. Playing softball since I was four years old has not only taught me how to play a sport, but also compassion, teamwork, dedication, and to work hard for what you want — wether that be a spot on the field, a new job, or good grades.
When I first started catching I honestly didn’t enjoy it near as much as I do now. I remember one of the first tournaments I caught at when i was about 11 years old. There was a girl up to bat and she had batting gloves on. She saw that her shoe was untied and called time so she could tie it back. No matter how hard she tried, she just could not tie her shoe with those batting gloves on. She started to get frustrated so i quickly went closer to her and tied her shoe for her so we could resume the game. I didn’t think it was a big deal until everyone in the stands started clapping. I learned that day, that little things can go a long way.
I believe that I have what it takes to compete at a college level. I hope for a school environment that surrounds me with positive team mates and people, and also a good fit academically and athletically.
