Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Kinsey White and I am a diligent and coachable student-athlete with an excellent work ethic. I am a rising Senior at Hill Country Christian School of Austin and I have 9 years of travel ball experience. I always give 100% effort and am fully committed to my teammates. One of the best parts of this game is supporting my team and having fun with them whether I’m having a great day on the field or not. To be blunt, I am extremely competitive, but I always have a great attitude while playing and continue to radiate positivity and joy every time I play. No matter what, academics come first; I am just as excited to receive a higher education as well as playing softball at the collegiate level. Overall, I am very passionate about the game of softball and I will continue to improve my skills in order to be successful academically and athletically in a welcoming/caring college environment.

1st Tournament of the season! This round robin was a great opportunity to get to know some of the new players on the team and transition back to select from high school ball. We were technically undefeated (won 3 and tied 1), so I am really excited to see how the rest of the season with play out.

Are you in honor classes?

Yes. 8th Grade- Algebra I; Freshman Year- Geometry, Biology, Classical Literature; Sophomore Year-Algebra II, Chemistry, Western Literature, and Latin III; Junior-Honors Pre-Calculus

Are you in AP/IB classes?

Yes. As a sophomore, I took an AP European History class. It was very challenging, but I loved seeing how much I improved over the course of the year. I liked the way it simulated a college class and I ended up getting a 5 on the AP Test. As a junior, I took AP English Language and Composition and AP Latin. These classes improved my writing, rhetorical, and comprehension skills. I also took the AP U.S. History test, though my school did not offer it as a class. I loved my AP classes because they were rigorous and mentally demanding, which means they have prepared me well for college level courses. As a senior, I plan to take AP Calculus BC, AP English Literature, and AP Macroeconomics. I am excited for these classes because they will be challenging and will prepare me for the majors/minors I would like to pursue.

ActivitiesI am in the worship band at school and we perform in chapel every week. I love to play piano, acoustic and electric guitar and sing. I also do volunteer work with in NHS.
