“Emery is a 2019 RHP with a balanced skill set. On the mound, Emery shows good composure and poise. She is confident in her pitches and does a nice job of changing speeds to keep hitters off balance. Her change up is a 20mph difference from her other pitches and is a go to strikeout pitch. Emery shows good control and is able to work ahead in the count. Her drop ball displays sharp movement with the correct spin and her curveball has a nice late break. Continuing to work on her leg drive will allow her to see increases in her velocity. In the box, Emery is a RHH that uses a square stance with a square stride. She is able to consistently put the ball in play. Working to engage her lower half more will allow her to see an increase in her gap production. Overall, Emery is a hard-working player with a passion for the game. With continued coaching she will have the opportunity to take her game to the next level.”~ player evaluation- November 2017- Softball Factory
I started playing softball when I was 9. At first, I was stuck in the outfield watching butterflies and kicking ant piles. After watching some older girls on the mound I determined that the mound was where I wanted to be. My dad was my first pitching coach but I advanced quickly and it was clear I needed more. That is when I started pitching with my coach, Jesse Aleman. He has worked with me for 7 years now and has helped me grow and refine my skill set and continues to help me now. He has coached me not only in skills but in heart and attitude. His daughter pitched at the college level so he knows what it takes and has guided me in my journey as a pitcher.
In the past two years my experience with playing on varsity has challenged me to grow my leadership skills and learn how to handle tough competition. We made it to district playoffs both years and I was able to make key contributions during the season. I made great friends on the team and we supported each other through our wins and our losses. My team has been like a second family for me and we share not only softball but a strong sense of faith.
I want to be a part of a program that is grounded in teamwork and will help me grow not only as a player but as a person. I am looking for quality coaching that can make the most the strengths I can bring to the team.
I am looking for an academic program that will challenge me and provide a strong foundation for my future. I am a hard working student and have maintained my rank as 5th in my class of 241. I have been able to increase my SAT and PSAT scores over the past year and my goal is to score at least a 1400 when I take the SAT again in April of 2018.
