Personal Statement

I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old. It has taught me how to overcome failure, how important hard work is, and discipline. Softball has shaped and molded to be the best version of myself on and off the field. That is why I want to further my student athlete persona at the collegiate level. I am a very coachable athlete that tries to take in every piece of knowledge I can.

I have had the privilege to coach Eviana Robles in select ball for three years. In this time Eviana has proven to be one of the hardest working and most driven athletes that I have worked with. She is blessed athletically and can handle most positions on the field with ease - as well as being flexible with where she is put in the lineup. She has played CF and SS for us but is able to play 2B, 3B and other OF positions just as well. Some of her best assets on defense are her range and her quickness. She has hit in the top four spots in the line up for us and shines as a well disciplined contact and situational hitter and a productive base runner. She works hard to maintain the skill set she has and is constantly trying to push herself to get better. I have no doubt she will add power to her resume as she is currently working hard on her swing. She is the athlete that will show up early, ask for extra reps and stay late in order to be where she wants to be. She is also the athlete that will listen to everything and try to understand the game better from a mental perspective. Eviana is extremely coachable and willing to do whatever is necessary to help her team. Eviana will be the player that grinds it out and gets it done - with no excuses; because of this she is respected by her teammates, coaches and opponents.
