Taylor Wilson '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taylor Wilson. I've been playing beach volleyball since I was 10 years old. I love it and I'm always challenging myself to get better. I have qualified and competed in USAV Nationals three times, 2016, '17 and '18. In 2016, I was ranked #6 in Texas and #37 in the nation in USAV points. This year, my partner and I qualified and will compete in the AVP East Coast Championships in Clearwater, FL in November, 2020. I've participated in many beach volleyball camps, clinics, training sessions and private lessons over the years. I've played on a local beach team for several years and have participated in 40-50 beach tournaments all over Texas. I have a passion for beach volleyball and am very interested in playing at the college level.

I'm also a four year varsity letterman in tennis and continue to play on my high school team. I also played club volleyball for three years and school volleyball my freshman year. I wanted to continue with court volleyball, however, matches and practices for tennis and volleyball were always in direct conflict so I had to choose one or the other. I chose varsity tennis over court since beach volleyball is my preference and is primarily on the weekends. Since then, I have focused my volleyball attention on sand volleyball.

I have taken many AP classes in high school and maintain a 4.80/5.0 GPA and will graduate in the top 20% of my class. I do volunteer work at my local food bank, work part time at a local country club and like to read and do photography in my free time.

I'm passionate about playing sand volleyball in college and I hope you will consider me for your program.
