For anyone to understand my goals aspirations we'll have to start from the beginning... I might have been seven years old. You see, initially I didn't want to play ball but, I'd usually be at the ball park anyway since my older brother played. Age 5 was a no and age six was a heck no. My folks eventually signed me up but, I continued to show little interest. Well, it turns out my folks were more stubborn than I would have thought. One season turned into two then a third and fourth. The seasons went on. As I got older I felt the game slow down and it all started to feel more natural to me. One day I asked the coach for an opportunity to pitch and it was granted. Disaster the first time to pitch but I was hooked. It was my eureka moment and I knew I wanted to play. Fast forward several years and I'm in high school. I've had the privilege of playing varsity since my freshmen year. I definitely got rocked but it was a good learning experience that prepared me for my last years in high school. My upperclassmen years I was even more comfortable. So much so, that my responsibilities grew beyond pitching. I can honestly say I've enjoyed every position I've been given an opportunity to play. I've enjoyed my coaches that have given up their time to hone our skills and develop the team to work as one unit. I appreciate my folks for being patient with me especially my formative years. And now here I am. I know I'll likely never be an Olympian but I'll bring the same work ethic to the table. I may never be a Nobel Peace prize winning laureate but I'll inspire my team mates to be the best they can be. Most of all my goal is a little more noble. Just be able to to continue to play the game I love as long as I can. What more can I ask for?
