Personal Statement

I started playing softball at the age of nine and ever since I first stepped foot on the field I knew it was going to play an important role in my life. Starting with city league ball and slowly progressing to local tournament teams helped to increase my competitiveness and fueled my desire to play beyond high school. Softball has taught me how to work hard in order to get things done correctly and efficiently.  This work ethic has parlayed into my academics where I am currently working hard to maintain a high GPA so that I can remain number one in my class and graduate as valedictorian. My goal is not only to play softball at the collegiate level, but to also receive a quality education that will lead me to be successful after college. I plan to major in pre-med and hopefully become a Physicians Assistant. Although practices and games can be tough at times, the adversity has helped me develop the skills I have as a middle infielder and lead off hitter. I am a vocal player and I strive to promote positive encouragement not only to help myself but to lift my teammates up as well. In college I plan to continue to work hard so that I can contribute in a dynamic way on the field while continuing to be a positive influence on my team.

Eiseley entitled the Star Thrower. His story tells of an old man walking along a beach who notices a young boy repeatedly bending down to pick up an object and throw it back in the ocean. When the man got close enough to the young boy he realized the beach was covered in starfish that had been washed ashore. The old man told the boy that he would never make a difference because of the sheer number of starfish washed ashore. The boy picked up another starfish and threw it in the ocean and turned to the old man saying that he made a difference to that one. Our motto for the Starfish Society, Inc. is "Students making a difference one student at a time." 10, 11 CAMP FERN, Counselor June, 2020 & 2021 • Teach, supervise, encourage campers aged 7-16 9, 10, 11 ACOLYTE AT TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH.
