Hello, my name is Nina Carbonell-Miranda and I live in North Richland Hills, Texas. I am part of the Birdville High School 2023 graduating class and a Varsity Corners Player since my freshman year. I will be starting Senior year with a new sense of gratitude, confidence and stronger then my previous years. After a successful fall season of 2021 I discovered I needed Thoracic Outlet Syndrome surgery. I had surgery on March 25 2022. However I am excited to update you on my progress in my recovery of TOS Surgery back on March 25, 2022. Since April 12th I have been in Physical Therapy twice a week and in my Hitting Program started in July, once a week. I have been working hard with my physical therapist and my hitting Coach to be release by September 1st. I achieved my goal of being able to play competitive in September. I have met with my High School Varsity Coach and my Travel Team Coach. We are all very eager to start workouts and practice with the teams.
My goal of being a colligate player is still in my path and I believe I will be a better teammate, player and student due to facing adversity with overcoming the physical and mental aspect of never again playing the sport I have played since I was 6. I am looking forward of being a leader and big sister to all the new teammates coming in this year as well as finally being with my sisters on my travel team this fall. My Travel Team, Firecrackers 18U-Warren have developed in to a solid fighting team. I look forward to our busy schedule in the fall.
As I finish my senior year I will have all my NCAA credits. In the last couple of years I realized I have interest in studying Law to help give someone a voice during a difficult time. I am hoping to attend a program where I can continue to enter Law School. I would like to attend college camps so I may get to know the coaches and institutions that I would have the opportunity to play and study at. I am very dedicated to what I do and will fight until the end. My dreams are big dreams, but with hard work, effort, and focus I know I can make it happen. The goal is to Keep Moving Forward!
