My name is Miah Hartvigsen, from Salem, Utah. I am 5'9", 165 lbs. This last year I played for MSUM Moorhead as a shortstop and was able to hit my first college home run. I also played on a travel softball team the 18U Firecrackers from Huntington Beach, California. Aside from 2nd, SS, and 1st base, I am a utility player and a really good hitter. In 2016 I hit my first home run and was able to hit 10 more home runs that season and in the past years as well. In 2019 I was able to hit a walk-off home run in the 8th inning to help my team advance to semi finals in the USA Preps Summer Nationals. Academically I have a 4.0 GPA. I believe academics are a very important part of life, and I work really hard to have good grades. I have taken the ACT and received a 24. Academically I am interested in studying health science with a major in medical forensics. Ever since I was 8 years old I have loved softball. I love the competitiveness and the adrenaline that comes from playing softball and competing has taught me so many skills not just for softball, but for life. I have learned how to compete, how to be a team player, to work hard, to never give up on my dreams, and to be respectful of my teammates and my competitors, among many other values and skills. I also have a drive to always do better. I deserve the shot to continue to play at the college level because I am a team player, I play hard, I never give up, and I am committed to help your team go to the College World Series.
