My name is Julissa Calderon and I am a junior at Bishop O’Connell Highschool. I have been playing softball for 4 years now and I want to be able to take my game to the collegiate level. I am currently interested in becoming a doctor as my profession after school. I would love to have the opportunity to go to college where I can get a great education along with being able to play a sport that I love. I look at myself as a great teammate because of my unselfishness and my willingness to do whatever it takes to help our team win. I am different from my other candidates because of my resilience. In my family, I have always learned to never give up and if I want something to go get it. I won’t let anyone or anything stop me from achieving my goals in life. Fall of 2017 I played for the Prince William Girls Fastpitch Softball League and won Championships. Spring of freshmen year I was a starter in center field for the Bishop O’Connell High School J.V team and successfully finished the season being undefeated. My resilience applies to not only softball but my academic life off the field as well. I am currently holding a 3.7 GPA and I am in the Spanish honors society and the Spanish heritage club. I am determined to make any sacrifices that will make me a better athlete.
I believe that I am a good teammate and can help benefit a school community on and off the field. I am passionate about softball and would be extremely grateful to have the opportunity for a spot on a collegiate roster.
