My name is Hilary Sonnabend and I have been playing softball since 4th grade. When I was little I was taught how to work hard and have brought that into everything I do. I have done 5 different high school sports including cross country, basketball, track, softball, and swimming. Most of which were competed at the varsity level. I have been playing softball all these years through school and on a club team. I switched over to high school softball Junior year because I wanted to give my running career a break. I had a very successful Junior season batting a .439 avg in 66 at bats which included 29 hits. I had 16 RBIs, 6 doubles, 3 triples, 13 stolen bases, and scored 26 runs. In the field I had 20 put outs out of 21 total changes with a .962 fielding percentage. I was awarded 2nd team all conference and most valuable outfielder. Because I have been blessed with speed, it has allowed me to be successful in the outfield and advancing bases when up to bat. My dad has taught me a productive work ethic that makes me strive to be a better athlete each day. With this has come many hour sessions to the cages and fields. I am a positive person who encourages those around me to be happy and energetic when with me. Being a good teammate is important to me and makes the experience fun when you have close friendships. I participated in my school's musical and am an active member of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes ). I love working hard and seeing your hard work turn into something great. I enjoy being with my family, hunting, fishing, improving my faith, problem-solving, and putting things together. My collegiate goals include becoming the best version of myself which helps lead my team to victories in the conference and tournament play. I am optimistic when it comes to finding a college that is the best fit for me and it brings me excitement to work to become a softball player at the college level.
