November 2017 Personal Statement
I'm a 5’3" shortstop from Eau Claire, WI and attend Memorial High School. I started on varsity my sophomore year (2016) as shortstop. I feel that shortshop is my strongest position, but I am a very versatile player and am willing to play where ever I can best help a team. I grew up watching UW Eau Claire softball players. I have attended many to their camps and clinics over the years and I was inspired to be like them when I grew up. Both on the field and in the classroom.
I love the game and competing. I'm comfortable bunting, swinging for the fence and slap hitting at the plate. Once on the base I'm quick and would love to be on an aggressive team that steals. I also feel my quickness and strong arm can help a team in any defensive position I would be needed in.
I am looking for a school that is within 4 to 5 hours from Eau Claire. I also would prefer a school that has an aesthetic appeal and is strong in biology and environmental science. I believe that the best fit for me would be a DII or DIII school, but I'm open to any school.
