A moment that defined me was when I transitioned from a team with seven seniors my freshman year to a brand new team my sophomore season. This forced me to step up as a leader and taught me the importance of team. I discovered that my role on and off the court were equally important: keeping each other accountable, encouraging, being selfless, and having a good attitude. I learned that even leading scorers are only as successful as their whole team. I love basketball because teammates become my family. I want to be a part of a program that’s foundation is family and is committed to the achieving success on the court.
Through the various teams I have been a part of, I have been blessed with many examples in my life of what characteristics a good teammate must represent: selflessness, commitment, accountability, and work ethic. I continue to grow into a strong leader as well as a respectable example to my teammates as co-captain. I also embody moral attributes that provide an avenue for me to connect with everyone. My character and work ethic will positively serve your program.
