In the four short years that I have been playing organized basketball, I have been in a constant state of growth in my skills, strength, confidence and intelligence both on and off the court. I am always pushing myself to achieve elite levels and it is now become habitual. In 2018, when only in my 2nd year of junior high school and club ball, I had the honor to represent my city of Calgary at the Alberta Summer Games, making the roster of 11 out of 75 elite Calgarian players who vied for a place on the squad. Additionally, while being evaluated for this year's U16 Genesis club team, my performance and intensity resulted in myself being tapped to play on the Black (tier 1) U17 squad, which is an achievement I am very proud of.
My passion for basketball has been key to my success in school as well. My desire to be recognized and invited to attend and play at an elite post-secondary level has given me a laser-like focus in my studies. As a result, I have been achieving honor roll and honors with distinction recognition throughout my junior high school academic career and my first year in high school which I will be wrapping up this month.
Another reason that I know why I will continue to grow and succeed is because of the unrelenting and unconditional support of my parents and family. They are always there cheering me on, believing in me and picking me up anytime I get down on myself. I know that with their continuing support I am sure to achieve my ultimate goal of entering into the field of pediatric medicine and I look forward to making that journey both as a player and a student at the college/university that will recognize me for the athletic and academic achievements I have attained thus far.
