Personal Statement

My college goals are to get a good education and a degree in Kinesiology leading to study physiotherapy and I would love to play NCAA Division 1 women's basketball.

I Believe I am a good candidate because I am a long versatile athletic ball player who is very competitive, unselfish and really enjoy playing sports at a high level.  I am committed, having had to often to travel for 4 hours each way to practice with my provincial and club teams based in Vancouver, BC.  I come from a multi-sport background having competed provincially at the club level in swimming, Soccer and Cross country skiing before I narrowed my focus to Volleyball and Basketball.  As a Sophomore and Junior I have been a starter for both my club and high school basketball and volleyball teams.  I am also very social and really enjoy my time with friends and teammates.

I have been playing basketball since I was 9 years old and in Province of British Columbia's high performance system and teams for the last 3 years.  I have also been fortune to become a Basketball Canada National Team prospect,  attending 3 Cadet National Team Assessment Camps and the Cadet National Team try-out last June where I was a in the last 4 players released.  To further my game, this fall I started to play for the BCUnited Bluestar program coached by Rich Chambers who previously coached the Canadian Junior Women's national team for 10 years.  What I like about Rich as a coach is that he demands the best of me and makes me a better player.  Rich was also my coach for the British Columbia U15 Team that place 2nd at the Canadian National Championships in the summer of 2016, where I received a first all star and was identified by Basketball Canada.

I attend a large high school that has 1800 students, which I believe is helping to prepare me for College or University where there are many more students.
