Natalie Duncan '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I am Natalie Duncan, conasuir of mac n cheese, follower of Christ, and a driven athlete who loves the sport of basketball. I have been shooting hoops since the age of 12 but didn’t play seriously until my freshman year. Although there are challenges that come with playing for a small school(like playing against schools 10 times our size), the adversity experienced throughout my seasons fueled my passion for the sport and hunger to get better. The journey has not been easy but looking back I see that this amazing sport has taught me the importance of teamwork, grit, and patience. Seeing my improvements each year has been rewarding and showed me the value of a strong work ethic. I am a 5.8 shooting guard at Desert Christian Academy and have had the dream to play college ball  since only 3 years ago. This late realization has made this goal a tall order, but there isn’t anything I love more than setting challenging goals, working my butt off, and having the satisfaction of achieving it. I owe all I have to my coaches, supportive family, but most of all, God. Through multiple injuries, and setbacks God’s hand has been with me every step of the way, providing me with the best coaches and most amazing family ever. I hope to major in something in the science field or possibly photography, but I am still unsure. The only thing I am sure of is that I will play at the collegiate level. Although this won’t come easy, I am willing to work until my dream comes true. For this reason, I believe I would be a great candidate for recruitment because once I set my mind to something, I am driven to achieve that goal. In addition, I consistently have the hunger to set new goals. I am never satisfied, because I optimistically strive to always be better than I was the day before.
