Ariana Fernandez '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Ariana Fernandez and I am currently a junior at Heritage Christian High School in Northridge, California. As a younger sister, one tends to follow everything the older sibling does. This is exactly what I did when I first saw my sister play Basketball. Even though I was playing soccer, I’d tell my mom I want to play basketball. In second grade, when I finally started playing, I fell in love. As the years went by, my love for the sport only grew and my effort became persistent. 

As I am approaching the home stretch part of High School, my goal is to finish strong in the classroom but also on the court. As for post High School, my goal is to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering and play at a college that will suit me academically and athletically. 

Coming into my junior year, there was only two returning players from the previous season. It was a challenge as a captain to make our team a family and keep all of us on the same page. Though, this season taught me to be a leader on the court and off the court and also believe in our team even when we went through our trials. As a new team, we won second in our league! As I was tested physically and mentally through this season, I learned to give my all in practices and games no matter what. Closing out this season, I thank God for what He has done to strengthen me and am looking forward to work hard to improve myself for my future.
