Personal Statement

Basketball has single handedly changed my life. When I was 5 years old I started playing basketball for fun. But, then it became more than that. I never took basketball super serious, until I went through a lot of family problems. Basketball became an outlet for me, and it was the only thing I could do that took my mind off of everything I was going through. I would train by myself for hours outside of my house every day. I began to grow a very big passion and love for the sport, that was unmatched compared to anything else I was doing in my life. In the hard times that I went through, basketball taught me so many life lessons that I now continue to take with me through everything that I do.

At one time, basketball was just my stress reliever and my outlet to express myself. But, through those times, I became so in love with the sport, now I can't imagine myself not playing basketball. I plan and will do anything it takes to be able to take my skill to the collegiate level. Basketball has taught me leadership skills that transfer to so many other things in life, especially the classroom, along with teaching me how to be a good teammate. Being a dual-sport athlete, I have learned how to adapt in any situation that comes my way, and how to overcome it with my team. I hope to be able to make a great addition to a college's team, and become a student-athlete at the next level.
