My name is Sammie and I am a Junior at Ramona High School, in Ramona, California. I am currently in season and have made the transition in 2019 from Opposite to Outside and I have become a 6-rotation player(I can play middle also). I am currently working on my backrow defense and my role as a primary passer. I am currently leading my league in serving aces, which I am proud of. My goal, as a student athlete, is to be able to play volleyball at a the collegiate level and study sports medicine/science. I am very coachable and am very easy to get along with, and l learn new skills very quickly. I work well with others on and off the court and I would say that a strength I have is being a court leader and can make good in-game decisions and adjustments. I have a very outgoing personality and love to work hard when it comes to playing and strength training. I would say that my coaches and teammates would say that I put team first and I am very loyal to our program. My grades are fairly good between the 3.0 and 4.0 range and I am a hard worker in class. I am taking 3 AP classes this year and up for the challenge off the court in staying focused as a student athlete. I am most excited as I am still growing, and looking to continue to better my skills this year during and off season as I learn more about playing outside hitter. I have a lot of different interests, have played multiple sports, including club travel soccer and love the outdoors. In the off season, I volunteer to manage for our boy's high school Varsity team and I love this, because I am able to play on the higher net, at a faster pace which has improved my blocking and all around play. I also volunteer at all of our youth camps and referee at Epic Volleyball Club. I am also an accomplished equestrian, riding both English and Western disciplines and have 6 horses on our small ranch in Ramona. I just finished my high school 2019 season, earning First Team all Valley League honors, SD Union Tribune All-Academic Team and RHS Outstanding Offensive Player honors in my first year transitioning from the right side to OH and becoming a 6-rotation player.
