Hello Coaches my name is Melanie Lindsey and I am currently a senior at U-Prep in Redding, CA. Basketball has been my love since before kindergarten. Playing basketball through the years has given me numerous life-long friends and has taught me discipline, dedication, selflessness, and the ability trust in others. Currently I have a weighted GPA of 4.3 through high school and plan to go into the medical field some day after college. My goal is to play college basketball at some level as I feel like I still have so much more to offer both on the court as a player as well as a teammate to others.
My sophomore year playing varsity I started on the bench. After a few games I earned a starting position and ended the season averaging 10.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg and lead our team in made 3 pointers with 60. Our team took 2nd in the NSCIF playoffs and we made a deep run into the state playoffs. I was named to the NAL 1st team which was a huge honor. Last year as a Junior with Covid our season was a wash unfortunately but this year basketball is back and I’m as excited as ever to get back on the court.
