Laurel Bandy '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Laurel Bandy. I have been basketball since sixth grade. I am a good candidate for your team because I have a lot of leadership experience. I am the captain of the Girls' Varsity Basketball team at my school and have played varsity since freshman year. I've learned a lot about being a leader. I've learned that being a leader does not mean bossing everyone around on and off the court. Being a leader means being a role model for the other players. It means working hard and encouraging your teammates to work hard as well. Being a good leader means allowing yourself to grow and understanding that failing is okay, as long as you keep striving for greatness. It also means allowing your teammates to grow and fail as well and being there to pick them back up. 

 In addition, I am a good candidate for your team because I am hard working on and off the court. I am able to manage sports and still maintain a 3.6 GPA. I am a hardworking player who is not afraid to make mistakes and always wants to grow and be the best I can be.
