My future goals include going to a great college and playing basketball. The field I am most interested in entering is Actuarial Science, or a least something in the math field. Math has remained my favorite subject throughout my schooling career, and I seem to have a knack for working with numbers an using logic to solve problems. Currently, I am taking the Honors Geometry course at my high school, and next year I will be taking Algebra II with Trigonometry.
Though I have been playing basketball since I was little, middle school is when I was forced to learn how to manage my time balancing school and extracurricular activities. I have found that during basketball or other sports seasons, I have a better work ethic, because I have to get all my work done right away before going to practice. This is why my goal is to become a collegiate student-athlete. I feel that having a built-in schedule for school and sports will continue to push me to achieve my goals.
Even though school has always come first for me, being able to play my favorite sport at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine. I think that I am a good team player, and would do anything to help the team improve. I can learn new offenses and defenses pretty quickly as well. Also, I am a good communicator on the court, and always use my voice positively. A strength of mine on the basketball court is my ability to handle the ball with both my left and right hand under pressure, while getting quick passes to my teammates in the best position to score. One thing that I believe my coaches would tell you that makes me stand out among other players is that I will always be one of the hardest working players on the court or field.
