Basketball for me started off as a stress reliever, but as I continued it became more of a guide to life. It has given me many opportunities to be successful, and introduced me to many amazing coaches and people throughout the years. Since basketball has given me so many openings to great paths, it is my dream is to continue basketball at the college level.
Being a point guard, the role has taught me how to lead a team. I have learned to give my maximum effort no matter how big or small the task is. I’m currently engaged in a strength training and conditioning program. Since I’m a small point guard, it is important for me to gain as much strength as possible.
Not only is strength an important factor on the court but off the court as well. It is important to me that I have a strong academic foundation. Maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout high school is my academic goal so that the transition to college will be an easier process for me. Since I want to pursue a career in Physical Therapy, I know that it is vital for me to keep working hard through school and keeping up my good habits.
Having a strong work ethic and carrying leadership both on and off the court no matter the task, are some traits I want to bring to my future college and basketball team.
