Personal Statement

My dream is to play competitive collegiate basketball where I can use the skills that I have been developing since I was the age of 5. I am a team player that not only likes to improve each game but also encourage, uplift, and support my teammates.  While basketball is my number one passion, I have enjoyed playing volleyball and participating in track as a sprinter/hurdler. I live in a rural community with limited opportunities, so after I was able to make the Nike EYCL League team out of Boise I decided it was best to focus on the game that I’ve always loved. The 4 hour commute made it difficult to continue to participate in volleyball and track but I was willing to make this sacrifice to attend my practices and tournaments with my travel team.  I am confident that the skills and experience I develop with my EYCL team will be worth the sacrifices my parents and I have made to get to the next level.

I love to bake, organize, and decorate.  I believe nothing comes easy in life and hard work is necessary.  My parents and extended family are some of the hardest workers I know and have instilled this in me.  I have been mowing lawns since I was ten years old with my brother and we have a successful lawn business that keeps us busy all summer in between our sporting endeavors. I try to live by the "Mamba Mentality" and would love the opportunity to further my basketball aspirations on a Collegiate Court.
