I began to play basketball at the age of 9. After a year of playing, I knew that I loved the sport and wanted to continue to learn and develop as a player. I played at my junior high all three years and started almost every game each year. In eighth grade, I decided that it was time to start to travel. During that first season, I learned so much and wanted to continue to learn. Going into my freshman year of high school I was asked to go on a team camp trip with the varsity to the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Over those days I learned so much about the program that I was going into that upcoming season. I started each game that we had in Wisconsin. During the season I played on the freshman team and was the team captain. That was the year that I had finally adapted into my body because I have been growing for so long and so fast I was finally able to control my body. Sophomore year is when I made varsity at my high school. I didn't start that year but that year I learned how to become a leader for a later season and was able to create a work ethic that I have lived by ever since.
I am a multi-sport athlete. I played badminton for my high school freshman and sophomore year. I also played volleyball my sophomore year and I never played volleyball before and I still made the team. I played middle blocker and a little bit or right side hitter on the team.
I another interesting thing about me is that I am involved in the music program. I have played the flute since 4th grade and am still playing in high school.
I am a very hard working person. If I need to work on something then I will try and go work on it. I don't like to fall behind in my skills and playing ability so putting in work is important to me.
Off the court, I am a very good student. I have always gotten good grades all my years of school. In high school, I have been on the honor roll multiple times. I have a 3.88 GPA. I always get my school work done before anything else. Once I get home from school or after practice I start my homework right away and don't stop until it is done.
My life at home is a little different than most people. I am the oldest child and have two younger siblings. My sister is also an athlete but plays different sports than me. My brother does not play any sports and has autism. Since he has autism I have grown up and matured faster than some other people. I always try and help to take care of him as much as I can.
