Personal Statement

I want to play in college basketball because I love the sports and the aggression. Ever since I started playing basketball in the 6th grade I have found a huge interest in basketball. When I play in basketball not only am I playing in the sport but I am working with a group of girls as a team. We play every game like its our last. I am also interested in playing college level basketball because of the speed and pace of how they play. I am all about the fast ball movement and team work.

I am 5'8”and I am 121lbs. I play anywhere I am needed but I most played as a Power forward or Point guard. I have been playing basketball since our school has offered it and each year I have gotten stronger and more confident with my shooting. I am junior  on starting Varsity. I am great on defense. I prefer man-to-man or 1-3-1 but I work well in all defenses. I love to rebound and box out. I am also very good at offense. I am very good at seeing the court and looking down low, to get the ball inside the paint. I prefer to shoot mid-range jumpers but my percentages in layups and 3 point shots are also very high. I love to get rebounds and get those rebound put backs. I am very fast and tend to steal the ball a lot and go in for a lay up. I have great memory and I am a very fast learner and I adjust to things quickly. I have a positive can do attitude and I try to keep things on the positive side. Your not being a team player if you are thinking negatively.

I would like to have a scholarship in both academics and athletically. I have a GPA of 4.25 and I have above average grades. They fall under the category excellent grades. I am in the top 5 of my class of 42. I have been rewarded all years high honors and excellent effort. I plan to be involved in forensics or law when I grow up so I am also looking for a school involving the right material to get me to my dream job. Athletically I have achieved many first place rewards and trophies. I have three MVP trophies in basketball and a mental toughness and MVP trophies in track. I have made it to state all 3 years available in track and have placed. I have received a ribbon in every event and most are 1st place. I also have received a medal and plaque in track. In track my team has won LTC and Sectionals all 3 years. In basketball our team made it all the way to sectionals. We were the  first girls team at our school to win regionals; my 8th grade year. In basketball I have made it in the newspaper for most steals and most rebounds as a freshman in a varsity league. In track I received 8th place as a pentathlon finalist both freshman and sophomore year. As a sophomore I received varsity girls basketball mvp plaque.
