November 13 was the day I realized how strong of a person I was both physically and mentally. That day I had to overcome the most difficult eighteen-hour test I had ever endured. After reaching levels I never thought I could, I had achieved my blackbelt. I never would be where I am today without my faith, family, coaches, and teammates. Basketball was never the sport I intended to play until an injury in elementary school got me to play and made me realize how much I loved the sport. Basketball has taught me patients, and how to communicate with others, it has also taught me self-respect, and discipline.
I am a straight-A student who is dedicated to my education and making an impact in my community through community service. I have seen what the effects of not having a college education can do on a family because of that I want to go to college so I can provide for my future. Watching my family struggle with life’s challenges has taught me to be dedicated and determined to build a strong future. I feel like I would be an asset to your team because of the many traits I demonstrate both on and off the court. I am able to adapt to different types of coaching styles and work well with all different types of temperaments. Being a four-sport athlete I understand the time and dedication it takes to play at the highest levels.
