Hi, My name is Emilee Escareno. I have been playing basketball for 7 years. I have played competitive for the past 2 years. I play wherever I am needed. I will continue to play for Eureka High School.
During my summer seasons I participate in volleyball, basketball, cheerleading and softball. Nearly everyday, in the summer, I wake up and go to lift weights at 6 in the morning. Following weights is practice for some sport. I work throughout the day but by 5 I am heading to another practice or starting a game. Basketball is on the weekends but practice is still during the week. I am explaining this because I want to be able to say I, as a starting varsity athlete, can handle a lot of sports and events at once. I get overwhelmed sometimes but I never give up. I have never been a quitter.
Basketball has been a huge part of my life. Basketball is a sport that I truly love doing and I appreciate every second I get when I am on the court.
When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are very big. I mainly am looking at central states (Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, etc.) but I am very open to going anywhere. I am open minded about colleges and hope to just find a college that fits me best. It doesn't matter about the size or location; if I can receive a good education and play basketball I will be happy. My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Athletic Training or Physical Education. However, my major may change over the course of the rest of my high school career.
I would like to continue my basketball career at the college level while earning a degree. I have managed to maintain a 3.6 GPA throughout my high school career, while participating in 4 sports, many clubs, and other organizations.
