My name is Allie Cassel. I’m a 5’ 8” sophomore from a small rural town in Northeast Kansas. I have a 4.0 GPA. Currently, I am either the starting Center or Power Forward on our Varsity Basketball team. While playing under the basket is where I am most comfortable, I am open to learning and growing into different positions.
A few of my personal academic goals are: graduate high school with high honors, earn a master’s degree while playing competitive basketball at the colligate level and attend medical school. A few of my athletic personal goals are: score 1,000 career points in high school, be selected to compete on the Kansas All Star team by 2020 and receive scholarship offers from colleges that will provide me with the education in the path I’m interested in.
In the off season, I am committed to staying active and self-improvement. I am also a Varsity starter on our High School volleyball team and compete in Track and Field. In the summer time, I have weights and a basketball skills routine that I perform weekly.
Since I was twelve, I’ve played on competitive traveling basketball teams that have allowed me to compete amongst and with the best of the best players. Being a player on these teams has given me the opportunity to be coached by some of the best coaches in our area.
This upcoming season, I will be focusing on improving my range shooting and being a better ball handler. I will spend extra time in the gym before and after each practice working on these areas.
At this time, I am not 100% decided on my major. However I do know that I am interested in exploring options in the medical field. I would like to attend a school that will help me reach my academic and athletic goals in a stable atmosphere. I am open to considering all opportunities that match up with personality and goals.
