My name is Aireona Holland. I am 5’4 Junior starting guard. My goals for high school and college would be to graduate and maintain a GPA of 3.5 and above. I learned to love the sport of basketball at a young age. It started from watching the sport, to me starting to understand how the game was played. I wanted to try it out so I decided to play, which made me develop a passion for it. I am a humble, determined, committed goal setter and team player. Throughout my years of playing I’ve learned to be less hard on myself and to become more patient, because with patience and more experience comes greatness and more opportunity.
The death of my father is an obstacle that I still face on a daily basis. Till this day it still drives me to do better. It gives me a stronger will to keep pushing. It made me remember that tomorrow isn’t always promised. My grandfather is the influential part of my life. He was diagnosed with MS but he showed me not to let obstacles determine your lifestyle. His daily drive and determination to overcome his medical obstacles in life shows me that anything can be accomplished if you have faith and put God first.
