Hello coaches! My name is Rayna Miller. I am a rising senior at Francis Scott Key High School located in Union Bridge, Maryland. I am a dual-sport athlete, playing both basketball and volleyball for Francis Scott Key High School at the varsity level. However, basketball has been my passion since I first began playing in the third grade. I have been playing AAU basketball for Maryland Lady Hoopmasters since the seventh grade (five years). My collegiate goals and aspirations are to play basketball at the DII or DIII level, while being able to gain an education that will help me fulfill my future career goals. I am a good candidate for your team because I am very hardworking and never satisfied, both on and off the court. In addition to this, I will bring leadership and a positive mindset that is always driven towards helping everyone around her improve. Academically, I am very strong. Since the age of 14, I have been able to maintain a 4.0 unweighted GPA and earn a 4.4510 weighted GPA. In addition to this, I have earned many academic achievements such as Honor Roll, Principal's Honor Roll, and an invitation to join both the National Honor Society and the English Honor Society (both of which I later accepted). Athletically, I am very versatile. Prior to high school, I was mostly a post player. Now, I am placed primarily in the guard position, playing either a shooting guard or a small forward. However, I do occasionally play point or run the power forward position. That being said, I am able to use my strength, size, and build to drive to the basket or shoot from the outside. Where I really look to separate myself from others is in regards to my character. I look to always lead with positivity, especially in situations that can easily become negative. I always strive to be a leader that can get tasks accomplished while helping others succeed in the process. Negativity does a team no good, so I look to eliminate it as soon as possible from any dynamic. With that being said, I hope I am able to speak more with you in the future in order to gain a better understanding of your school, as well as its goals and aspirations!
