Angela Cabalang '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Angela Cabalang. I am a 5'5 point guard from Gabriel Richard Catholic High School in Riverview, Michigan, and I want to compete at the highest level of collegiate basketball possible. I play year round, and I am always looking to get better. Basketball has taught me life lessons throughout the years, and I would love to continue being a student of the game. 

My parents instilled in me the importance of working hard at a young age. Whether it's basketball or academics, I have learned to give my maximum effort in everything I do. I strive to be the hardest-working player on any team I play for and believe that this mindset has gotten me where I am today. Another valuable quality my folks taught me when I was young, that still resides with me in the present, is discipline. I will always listen to my coach and execute what they have to say. 

I am also a firm believer of team basketball. As a point guard, I love setting my teammates up to get buckets. Going into any game, my biggest desire is to be what the team needs me to be. Whether my contribution is playing lock down defense or getting to the paint, I will do my part. Additionally, I have been taught the magnitude of having a positive attitude and being an encouraging teammate, and work tirelessly at maintaining these qualities through the good and bad. 

Juggling athletics and academics is a very difficult task. However, it has taught me the significance of time management and balance. I believe it is crucial to not only be performing well on the court, but in the classroom as well. As of right now, I am valedictorian of my class, and I know that I can maintain my rank if I continue to push myself.
