Mikayla Aumer '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since the third grade.  I am very committed and dedicated to this sport.  I started playing varsity as a freshman and I absolutely loved the experience!  I would have to say the highlight of my varsity career to date was winning the section championship and playing in the state tournament.  I have also been playing AAU for the past seven years and this will be  my second year with the MN Metro Stars program.  My strengths include ball handling, defense, good court vision, and a high basketball IQ.  I’m also extremely coachable and have a tremendous work ethic!  My goals include:

To continue to improve as a player, as well as helping my teammates to improve.

Be a leader both on and off the court.

To continue to be as dedicated to my academics as I am to the game of basketball.

To play college basketball at a school that will help me to grow as both a person and a player, continuing to enhance my strengths on and off the court. 

Off the court I spend time riding and showing horses in both 4-H and in Western Saddle Clubs Association events.  Not only has 4-H provided me with the opportunity to show my horses, but it has helped me to become more involved in my community.  Through 4-H during the last several years I have volunteered at many community service events.  They have included Soup for Souls serving food to the homeless and less fortunate, Salvation Army holiday bell ringing, visiting local nursing homes to serve and visit with the elderly, planting trees in a local park, and participating in local clean up days cleaning trash from city parks. 

I look forward to what the future holds as I grow playing the game I love and as I work toward my academic success in the classroom.
