Once I experienced my first women's college basketball game, I was hooked. I loved the atmosphere of the collegiate level of sports, and it has been something that I want to experience in the near future. Basketball is my outlet; it's something that I turn to when I'm frustrated, hurt, or really any other feeling that I have. Some of my greatest memories and relationships evolved around the sport, and it's taught me valuable lessons, not only in the sport, but in life as well. My story is an "underdog" story, and I come from a very small town where girls' basketball has been pretty much non-existent before my freshman year. I want to showcase to my family, siblings, friends, peers, and community that you can accomplish what you set out to do and dream of. And my dream is college basketball.
I'm a very hard worker, and love a good challenge. I can promise you that I will never whine or complain when something is brought up to me, and I thrive off of constructive criticism. I love to shoot the ball, but scoring is something that I love to do in general. I am a defensive presence on floor, wanting to get up in an intense defense and look to score in transition, and I'm a good communicator and vocal leader. I also love to lead by action, so when a teammate is off or has a rough night, I love picking them up and letting them know it's okay, and just simply out playing others. Academics is something that I take very seriously, and I realize that I will be attending college to get a thorough education to help me be at my best when it comes time to get a job after graduation. My academics are my priority, and I make sure that I keep my grades up at all times and give forth my best effort towards my classes.
Goals that I have is to make a difference on a collegiate team. I want to go to a school that wants to help me improve, on the floor and in a classroom, and have a place that I can call "home away from home". My dream school is one that can help me benefit and get me ready for life, and have a team that we can win a national championship with, at any level. My "dream team" is one that I can call family, and one that will help me improve every single time I step on the floor.
