Ava Vadyak '25 Recruiting Profile

The intensity of a close game with a rival is where I thrive. As a point guard, I am quick with sound fundamentals and basketball IQ.  My effort on both sides of the ball is contagious and running the offense while executing the game strategy is extremely rewarding to me. I have always been competitive as far back as I can remember.  Being dedicated and working hard has lead me to achieve many milestones for my on court performance, as I push toward my goal of playing college basketball.  In addition, as an All Long Island NY #15 scorer, I have also learned to overcome the adversity of being face guarded and double/triple teamed, still being able to lead my team to victory. As I continue to play varsity high school basketball and AAU, I realize this is will not be where my basketball career ends. Whether it comes to sports or school, I strive to be successful in every aspect of life. Playing varsity basketball, field hockey and flag football has taught me so many lessons. I love leading by example, picking my teammates up and showing my leadership in every game that I am a part of. I am positive and have as much fun as possible while also knowing when to be serious, focus and work hard. My willingness and capability to play any position needed to help my team and being successful in multiple sports shows my athletic ability to adapt to any position necessary. However, nothing makes me happier than playing basketball.  I have developed a true love for everything about the game.  The training and hard work, the highs and the lows- playing in front of fans and most importantly, the on and off court relationships is what is important to me. That is why I play basketball, field hockey and flag football, because of the different dynamics and teammates throughout the year.  I am beyond excited for an opportunity to showcase my talent as I strive to continue playing the sport I love, while receiving a great college education and experience.
