I started playing on a basketball team for the first time in 7th grade in 2020. At first I was intimidated by the other players at the higher level because they were so experienced and then there I was, not knowing how to do a proper lay-up and unsure of where to go and what to do in the first game I played. Then the pandemic hit and there was no basketball season when I was in 8th grade. During the summer of 2021, I attended basketball camps at West Chester University, which was when I started improving my skills and discovering my true passion for the sport. I love the competitive environment and the team work that it requires. In the fall of my freshman year, I started running cross country, which helped my endurance and confidence, as well as my mental and physical resilience, on and off the court.
