Going further than ever in the Pennsylvania State Tournament as a junior has been the highlight of my high school career so far. Yet, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when a starter got hurt, and I was called to step up to the challenge. I had played with these girls for years, but the game just seemed different to me, from a starters stand point, as a sophomore. That experience helped me grow as a person and find my role within the team. This helped me work on weaknesses to make me more capable of playing at the collegiate level.
I have been fortunate enough to be apart of a great program, who so far has been steadily doing better in the District and State Tournaments throughout my years. My sophomore year was the same as freshman year, in that we went to the State Tournament but lost first round, however we had placed a higher seed coming out of the District. My junior year we finally overcame where our road had ended the last two years, and not only won the first round, but also the second round where we lost in the quarterfinals, to a heart wrenching buzzer beater. I have learned the values of teamwork, commitment, leadership and loyalty through the past three years. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. Since basketball is my only sport, it has my heart, soul and dedication, perfectly accustomed for the collegiate level.
