Madison Wood '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a very strong student as my parents have instilled in me at a young age that schoolwork always takes priority over all of my activities. Over time,  I have learned to balance my schoolwork, social life and home life with my passion of playing volleyball. I started playing volleyball at age six with my family as my mom and dad both played in college and at a high level on on the beach. I can truly say that beach volleyball is my my blood and it has been part of my family since I was a little girl. I am lucky have been coached by dad on a daily basis. He had a long playing career and also coaches indoor club, High School, and Beach.  I have grown so much through competiton and by being pushed outside of my comfort zone on a daily basis. I have been playing tournaments on the beach for the past 5 years and at age 13 I was fortunate to finish 5th in a women's open tournament and was ranked in the top 5 in AVP America points for 18s.  I have won 18 tournaments so far in Juniors and Women's in New Jersey, Florida and California.
