Alyssa Wert '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been running track since I was 14 and a freshman in high school. I am currently going into my senior year and have been a varsity athlete for both track and soccer since my freshman year at Garnet Valley High School.

For track, my 4x400 relay team placed 3rd at Penn Relays and ran at Districts in 2019. I am also on both of the indoor and outdoor 4x200m relay teams that hold the school record. In my freshman year I was awarded my school's Ambassador Award, and in my sophomore and junior year I was given the team MVP award. In the 2021 spring track season, I ran in the 400m and 200m at the District 1 meet. In the 400m, I ranked 7th, earned the school record, and qualified for the PIAA State Meet. At the end of the season, I was ranked 34th in PA for the 400m and was All Delco Second Team. See my PAMilesplit profile. During the summer of 2021, I participated with Whirlwinds Track Club for the 2nd year and qualified for and participated in the 400m race at the AAU Junior Olympics Games in Humble Texas. 

In 2019 and 2020, my high school soccer team participated in the playoffs. I have been an All Delco Honorable Mention my freshman and sophomore years, and was All Delco Second Team this year. I competed in many showcase tournaments with my club soccer team, FC Europa ‘04 Elite Girls, over the past few years including the Disney ESPN showcase which we won. I was a member of the EPYSA ODP team in 2018 and 2019 and competed in Barcelona, Spain.

As a student, I have a GPA of 3.57 and have taken honors and AP classes. Playing in two sports has taught me how to be committed to both of them while still being able to manage my schoolwork and do well in my classes and wind ensemble (playing the flute). As an athlete, I work hard to support my team and always put them first. I always look to do my best to give my coaches what they expect of me on and off the field. I am looking for a college that will support both my academic and athletic needs.
