Hello, my name is Alyssa Koffler . I am a multisport athlete at Hot Springs High School and I will be graduating in 2023. I have been competitive in sports for as long as I can remember. I played soccer when I was little until I could play on the school volleyball team. I started playing basketball in 3rd grade. When I got to 6th grade, I was not always the most noticed or the most popular. This caused me to improve myself every day and get to know all of my teammates and support each and every one of them. I do not like anyone to feel left out and Team is very important to me. I have been playing basketball since 3rd grade. I have competed in track since 6th grade. I competed in gymnastics since 1st grade. I had the privilege of being co-captain for my volleyball and basketball teams for my senior year.
My academic goals for high school is to have over a 3.5 GPA and to graduate with honors. More importantly I love to learn and one of my goals is to make an impact on the younger classman and encourage them to be the best that they can be. I love sports but I also love to represent my community which is why I am in National Honors Society for two years now. Moreover, my college goals is to maintain a 3.5 GPA. Ii am excited to attend Dakota State University for accounting while getting the opportunity to compete as a Trojan for Basketball and track. I plan to graduate with at least a 4-year degree.
Covid-19 set us all back and we had to find new ways to learn and compete. I lost a track season my freshman year and some summer volleyball because of Covid-19. That year the only sport available to play was baseball, so I played baseball with all the boys. However, this made me get out of my comfort-zone and made me bond with new teammates in different ways. This has helped me in all my sports with attitude adjustments and learning how to pick up different players.
Some of my unique characteristics and skills I possess is that I am able to play with a variety of different personalities. Multiple coaches have said that I am very coachable. I have had the best and most consistent serving percentage on my team for the last three years for volleyball. One of my volleyball teammates called me the "hype man" on the court because I am always telling people good job. However, I do hold people accountable like making sure they don't step over the serving line. I broke the school record for most assists in volleyball this year.
