Aydia Cobb '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Aydia Cobb and I'm graduating in 2021. I am a 5'6.5 junior guard living in Carrollton, TX. I'm an athlete that is motivated, has a desire to succeed, Disciplined, focused,  has willingness to fight, aggressive, determined to reach my goals, coachable, and humble. As a student I am able to balance sports and academics by maintaining a 3.6 average gpa, being top 10% of my class, being inducted into national honor society and being an all around student athlete that my fellow classmates look up to by setting good examples. I am a great competitor,teammate and player with speed and endurance. I love defense the most because I love being aggressive and taking the ball away from people but my first 2 years of basketball I was too caught up in trying to play defense I didn't want to shoot. I learned that of course in order to win the game you need to play good defense and definitely score to get points on the board. I have been working on it and getting up there. I've also learned that as a leader I need to speak up more and not just think that my teammates will follow me based on my actions. My coach has expressed to me that I need to use my voice because I have important things to say and I'll always remember that because I never really thought what I say would matter but It does. Im working on speaking up and becoming the leader I am meant to be. In college my goal is to major in kinesiology and minor in education so I can become either a physical therapist or a teacher.  All in all I just want to work with kids because I love kids and want to see their faces light up with joy everyday.
