Basketball was not always my first choice sport. When I was little, I tried every sport that I could - I enjoyed any kind of athletics I played. I grew up in the Middle East, and I went to a British school, where I was able to play sports like Netball, Rounders, Cricket, Tag Rugby, among others. In the fifth grade I was named the "Sports Captain" of my whole elementary school. I tried out basketball when I was in the fourth grade, and since playing it for the first time, it has been the sport that I wanted to pursue the most.
Throughout middle and high school, basketball has had an especially significant impact on me. In spite of several moves to new cities and schools, basketball has been a constant in my life, and I've learned so much from every teammate I have played with. Playing at school, playing with friends, playing with an outside team, going to skills training, being on a team; I enjoy it all. I always look forward to any opportunities I have to play basketball.
Having the ability to continue playing in college will help me grow even more as a teammate and as a basketball player. I am looking forward to all of the challenges and rewards that come from playing at the next level.
