While playing basketball in Kindergarten, my coach had to literally pull me back so the other kid could have space to dribble the ball. I still love playing tough defense! As a freshmen, I moved into the starting lineup as the Point Guard. My Sophomore season began in the summer, when I helped create a summer league team. We organized 3 fundraisers and played 25 games. That spring our team made the playoffs for the first time in 7 years. We experienced success as a team. Supporting each other is important. One Saturday, we had a teammate oversleep and miss practice. The coach gave her the opportunity to make up the missed practice by running 12 miles. I stayed up at the track supporting her as she ran, running with her for several of the miles. No one should run alone. I am looking for a collegiate team that expects teammates to support one another and to graduate in 4 years. On paper, I am too short at 5'4", but on the court I am the 2nd leading rebounder on our team and lead the team in assists and steals. I play through any pain and encourage teammates through the game. I want to play college ball. I believe I can.
