Meredith Sherrerd '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Meredith Sherrerd. I've been playing basketball since fifth grade and I can say as the years have progressed I've started to love the sport more and more each day. One thing that has really shaped me over the past couple of years are the multiple coaches I've had in my high school career (I've had three coaches in three years). Each one of them taught me something new and valuable.  I can confidently say I'm good at adjusting to new coaching styles. I am a very competitive individual both on and off the court. I love competing in practice against my teammates and I especially enjoy competitive drills and trying to win them every time. I also train consistently outside of school. I've worked with a trainer once a week since 7th grade. In the off season I work with my father about three time a week in the morning before school. I can proudly say that with my hard work over the last off season, I was able to raise my three point percentage from 25% to 33%, and I intend to raise it further. I pride myself also in my academics. Despite having dyslexia, I've been able to maintain a 3.88 GPA and I am ranked 72 out of 620 in my class. I am also taking multiple AP and dual credit classes. I'm undecided as of right now when it comes to what I plan on majoring in but I do want to be in some type of health career field. I have used my competitive nature to rise above many challenges to be successful, and I look forward to even bigger challenges in college.
