My name is Zaria Johnson and I aspire to play basketball at a collegiate level. I was first introduced to basketball in the 7th grade. As a child, I always excelled at all sports, and basketball was no different. I started out making only the "B" team in middle school, but due to my hard work and dedication to the sport, I quickly excelled and made the Junior Varsity team my Freshman year in high school, and have been on Varsity since my Sophomore year. In addition, I have been on the starting five since my Freshman year. I have spent relentless hours every summer working on my craft and improving my skills. I have been blessed with the unique ability to capitalize on the court by using both my left and right hands. My ambidextrous abilities give me an edge and makes it hard for my opponents to determine my direction of dribbling, or which hand I am using in my lay ups. I consider myself a good candidate for any team because I am a very aggressive defensive player, I work hard, and I am hard to get around. Off the court, I work just as hard in the area of academics. I make all A's and an occasional B, and aspire to major in Biology. After receiving a degree in Biology, I would like to go to medical school and become an Orthopedic Physician. I have always been fascinated with the muscles and joints of the body and would like to make a career out of helping others to repair their bodies.
