LANIE DOUGET '21 Recruiting Profile

I am originally from Louisiana but now call San Antonio home. I came to Johnson High School my Sophomore year and was the starting point guard for the Junior Varsity team. Half way through the season, I was moved up to the Varsity team. Going into my Junior year at Johnson I will be on the Varsity team where I will earn my starting role.

I sacrifice my body every game and give 100%. My determination and love for basketball is second to none. I started playing basketball in 7^th grade athletics. I fell in love with the game and have grown so much in the last four years. My training so far has consisted of several long term private coaches, club ball, high school coaches and camps.

Basketball has helped me build confidence in myself and provides a productive distraction. As a member of a team, I have learned to develop better communication and build trust in my teammates. I have always known to work hard and earn good grades in school but basketball has taught me how to be more disciplined in life. My love for the sport has shown that training hard, learning the game, giving it my all and working even harder at all of those things day in and day out is what it is going to take make it.

I’m also on the track team where I run the 100 meter dash with a personal record of 11.83 seconds, the 4x100 and also the long jump with a personal record of 16 feet 4 inches. I might be short but I will bring speed and explosion on the court. I also always have the love and support of my parents who work just as hard as I do to help me become successful and reach my goals.

In my near future, I look forward to continuing to grow as a basketball player while pursuing a career in the medical/vet field, with a great academic program. I believe I have what it takes to be a key member of a competitive team and make an immediate impact to a program with my character and work ethic in a leadership roll.
