I started playing basketball when I was in the 3rd grade. For me basketball NEVER stops; however, 2018 was a big trial for me and my basketball career, I had a partial meniscus and complete ACL tear in April. I, along with my parents, made the decision for me to take final exams and complete STARR testing then proceed with my repair. May 25, 2018 I had my repair and started physical therapy 2 weeks later. Throughout my recovery my passion for the game kept me very focused on getting back on the court. I not only went to physical therapy but I also worked out on my own daily. I continued to travel with my club team throughout the summer, even though I could not play. What can I say I am very dedicated and wanted to be able to cheer my team on. Some of my club teammates received a basketball camp invite, 10 hours away from home, I wanted to experience that with them so my parents took me. When basketball season came around at my high school I helped to teach my teammates the basic skills that I could perform. I was able try out and I made Varsity, but we took my Doctor's advice and I waited 9 months for a full recovery. I did attend every game of the season to cheer my teammates on. San Elizario High made it to Area play-offs and I was able to play in what would be the last game of the season my freshman year. I continue to work out every day and play League basketball with my high school team. My goals for college are to obtain an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and then attend Medical school to become an Anesthesiologist. In order to achieve these goals, I am currently taking AP classes and Dual Credit classes. I am currently ranked 5th in the class of 2022 at San Elizario High. As a freshman, I obtained Master level on the STARR exam in biology. I am very dedicated to school and I am very proactive about my school work and grades.
