Maren Jones '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Maren Jones. I attend Pleasant Grove High School in UT. I will be graduating in 2023.  I'm a 5'5" point and/or shooting guard.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a basketball in my hands.  From trying to play speed at the age of 3 with my sister's teenage friends, to watching and doing dribbling drills at age 8, to making my high school sophomore, JV, and varsity team as a freshman.  Basketball has been my life's passion. 

Currently, I am very strong at reading the floor, passing, shooting and being coach-able.  I am currently working on improving my defensive skills.  My favorite part of being a guard is that I get to be a leader to my teammates and work closely with my coaches. 

While basketball is my passion, school is also an important aspect in my life.  My core classes consist of honors level curriculum and I currently have a 4.0 GPA.

I believe in the power of setting and achieving goals.  One of my goals is to play basketball at the collegiate level.  Through my years of playing recreational, bantam, club and high school basketball, I believe it's a goal I can achieve.  I look forward to the opportunity to play at the next level.
