My name is An’NiKah Burton. I began playing basketball at 4 years old but didn’t start playing team basketball until the age of 7. I play girls basketball for Varina High School in Richmond, Virginia. I was the starting point guard and also the captain of the girls varsity team all 4 years of my high school career. After high school, I plan to play women’s basketball at the collegiate level.
I lead my team into the playoffs my junior year. Maintained a good percentage in steals, free-throws, 3-pt shooting, and assists. So, based on my statistics, you can say that I was a pretty decent player.
During my sophomore year I was gifted the opportunity to play for Virginia Havoc AAU basketball travel team. I was one of the top players on the team, put together with some of the best female high schoolers in Richmond, Va. Unfortunately that time was cut short due to Covid, but I didn’t let the pandemic stop me from my grind. During covid I continued to work on my craft and better myself as a person overall.
Junior year of high school I was selected into the top 45 female basketball players tournament in Virginia. I was also personally invited to a few college workouts.
To say the least, I’ve had good experience with basketball. I am doing what I can to follow my dreams and be a great person with integrity and heart. I always give my all, on and off the court, and perform to the best of my abilities.
